Visitor Reviews of Sunshine Village

Rob from Canada writes:

The snow is always pretty good as the elevation is much higher than the other resorts. Fernie usually gets much more snow but often the snow is wet and heavy and a real workout. Louise isn't bad but the extra distance for just a day trip leaves it a dangerous drive on the way back to Calgary. All of these places pale in comparison to Castle when they get a dump of snow. The vertical, the terrain and the powder are amazing. If you're not a solid blue skier or boarder you will get frustrated or hurt. Black or double black and you will soon see why this place is for serious enthusiasts. It will ruin you for these other commercialized places. Check out their website and you'll see what I mean. I've been skiing for 45 years (that's not a typo) and it is by far the best I have encountered when they get the snow. I've had waist deep powder there more times than I can remember.
